Welcome to Year 4!
We have had the most amazing start to Year 4 and we are looking forward to continuing this. The children have a fantastic attitude towards their learning and have already produced some remarkable pieces of work despite the long absence from school.
Our PE sessions this half term will be a Thursday. Please ensure your child arrives to school in their kit.
The more you read, the more you’ll know! Our stories get exciting in Year 4 and we escape to some weird and wonderful places through our imagination. Please let your child share these experiences with you by allowing time each day to share a book and discuss the themes and concepts hidden within.
Multiplication table check
Throughout Year 4, the children will regularly practice their multiplication tables. In June, they will be required to take part in an online multiplication tables check as the national curriculum specifies that pupils should be taught to recall the multiplication tables up to and including 12 × 12 by the end of year 4. There are some games and activities to support your child in learning their multiplication tables on our purple mash webpage here: Purple Mash
The following home learning tasks will be useful if you need to self-isolate as a family. Your child can work through these tasks over the coming weeks. If your child has an interest in a particular area, or wishes to take one of the projects in a different direction, we would love to see it at school when they return.
Thank you for your continued support at home!
